The English Football Association (FA) has rejected the appeal of Vincent Kompany for the red card he received in the FA Cup match against "Man Utd".
The referee sent off the 25-year-old footballer in the 12th minute for attempting to take the ball from the opponent by lunging in with both feet forward. He will miss four matches - three are a standard punishment, and an additional match was given because he has already committed a similar offense this season.
The Belgian will not be available for the team in the English League Cup matches against "Liverpool", as well as in the "Premier" league matches against "Wigan" and London's "Tottenham".
Coach Roberto Mancini insisted after the incident that he was 300% convinced that Kompany did not deserve the red card, so he had no doubt that the appeal would be successful.
