Torresas: I hope to demonstrate the best game again © EuroFootball.com

Fernando Torres hopes that soon London fans will see him demonstrating his best sporting form.

The striker, who cost 58 million euros at the beginning of last year, did not meet expectations, but his excellent performance in Saturday's match against Sunderland was optimistic for specialists. The Spaniard played actively in the match, and it was precisely after his impressive shot, after which the ball hit the crossbar, that Frank Lampard scored the only goal of the match.

"Being a striker, I always try and want to score," Torres said. "I hope I will succeed in reaching my best sporting form again. I had to adapt to a new style of play, and I made several productive passes, which helped us secure important victories."

The football player was also praised by coach Andre Villas Boas: "Fernando is trying very hard, so the goals will definitely come. His sporting form and self-confidence are growing, and the first goal after the break should inspire him even more."
