FC Bayern Munich forward Arjen Robben hit back at critics by stating that selfishness is one of his best qualities on the field.
The 27-year-old footballer has recently faced backlash for rarely passing the ball to his teammates, as he often prefers to finish attacks with individual actions.
"Forwards sometimes need to be selfish, although, of course, it's important not to overdo it," said the Dutch national team player. "Many decisions in this position are made intuitively. I play this way, and so does Frank Ribery. Our unpredictability is our strength, so selfishness is a positive trait, not a negative one."
Last season, Robben clashed with his teammate Thomas Muller for this reason.
