In the only Monday match of the English Premier League, the leader "Man City" narrowly defeated "Wigan" with a score of 1-0.
The only goal in the first half was scored by Bosnian Edin Dzeko with a header after a pass from David Silva. The visitors had opportunities to double the lead, but goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi denied Dzeko's attempt and also blocked a follow-up attempt from Silva.
On the other side of the pitch, James McArthur and James McCarthy came close to scoring, but they were unable to beat Joe Hart. Dzeko and Aguero could have capitalized on their efforts, but luck was not on their side as they failed to double the lead for Manchester City.
Following this victory, "Man City" regained a three-point advantage over second-placed "Man Utd" in the standings. Meanwhile, "Wigan" remained in the bottom 20th position.
