Before the quarterfinal battle of the King's Cup against Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo defended himself with sharp words.
The leader of Madrid faces criticism for not being able to demonstrate good play in the most important matches against Barcelona.
"Anyone who criticizes Cristiano will have problems with me," Mourinho said. "After all, we won the King's Cup precisely because of his goal. I don't even know how many goals Ronaldo has scored - an uncountable number of hat-tricks. So, of course, the pressure is immense.
"But you know which match of his I liked the most? The second half against the 'Mallorca' team. Cristiano worked like a beast and was finally exhausted. I said I was proud of such a performance."
And he added: "I said that when he works like that, no one can even touch him. When you plow like that, you don't even need to score a goal to be the best player. In my opinion, that was his best match."
