The Lithuanian national team is wanted to be trained by another specialist - Bulgarian Georgis Vasilevas.

On Wednesday, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation will take place in Kaunas, where the new strategy for the national team should be announced. So far, there have been three contenders: Hungarian Csaba Laszlo and Lithuanians Valdas Ivanauskas and Liudas Rumbutis.

However, with the emergence of another contender, the final decision may be postponed, writes "lrytas.lt". It is likely that committee members will be given time to consider Vasilevas' candidacy.

The General Director of the Federation, Julius Kvedaras, assured that the national team's first matches are still far away, so there will be no artificial pressure.

Like Ivanauskas, Vasilevas acquired his football knowledge in the German city of Cologne. He spent most of his time in his homeland, where he was assistant coach of the Bulgarian national team (1985-1986), as well as the coach of Sofia's "Levski" (1993-1995), Sofia's CSKA (1996-1998) and Sofia's "Lokomotiv".

The specialist also had success in Germany, where he broke through to the second division of the country with Berlin's "Union" and managed to reach the final of a cup tournament, thus earning a spot in the UEFA Cup.

Later, the Bulgarian's career turned to his homeland's club "Naftex Burgas", which he soon left to go to Greece's "Levadiakos". There, the coach also did not stay long and returned to Bulgaria's "Nesebar", and from March 2011 until the beginning of December, he worked with the "Chernomorets" team.

The greatest achievements of his career are four Bulgarian champion titles and twice winning the national cup.
