Dortmund's defender Mario Goetze dropped out of the lineup for about two months due to problems with his collarbone.
The 19-year-old German missed Sunday's match against Hamburg as a precaution. Despite this, doctors recommended him to rest for two weeks, and then train for six weeks in a special regime.
"Mario is an important part of the team, but we can replace him," said Borussia's coach Jurgen Klopp. "If he is not in good physical shape, then it is difficult for us to perform well in matches."
This season, Goetze scored five goals in 14 matches.
