Real Madrid strategist Jose Mourinho praised his players and complained about the referees after an unsuccessful match.
The capital team managed to secure a 2-2 draw, but it was not enough as Barcelona won the first leg of the Spanish King's Cup quarterfinal 2-1.
This time, the focus was on the referee, who showed eight yellow cards to Real Madrid players, two of which resulted in defender Sergio Ramos being sent off in the 89th minute.
"I've heard some players say that winning at the 'Camp Nou' stadium is impossible," Mourinho said, giving the impression that he was referring to the referees' work.
Interestingly, Real Madrid has only won once in their last 14 matches against their arch-rivals. Despite this, Mourinho insists that he chose the right strategy.
"Did I make a mistake? No," he said. "The match was good, the players played well. We came here to win. We knew we were behind, so we were motivated and eager for victory."
However, he added: "I have been in this stadium with London's Chelsea, Milan's Inter, and now Real Madrid teams. But I don't see anything new. Congratulations to Barcelona for what they did in the first leg in Madrid, but not for advancing to the next stage."
Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola congratulated his players for reaching the next stage: "Real Madrid is a great team and played a good game, but we were stronger over 180 minutes. We showed strength, so congratulations on the victory."
