Dortmund extended their contract with head coach Jürgen Klopp until 2016. The club's future for the same period is also linked to sports director Michael Zorc.
"We are very happy that we have settled the formalities so early," said chairman of the board Hans-Joachim Watzke. "Both of them have done a lot in the past few years."
The 44-year-old Klopp took over at Borussia in 2008, when he arrived from Mainz. Last season, his team won the German championship.
At the moment, in the national championships, Dortmund shares 1-3 places with Bayern Munich and Schalke from Gelsenkirchen.
