Milan borrowed defender Angelo Palombo from Genoa for 1 million euros. In the summer, it will be possible to sign a long-term contract with him for an additional 4 million euros.

The 30-year-old footballer is expected to replace Thiago Motta - the Brazilian-born Italian clashed with Paris St. Germain.

"I am very happy with this contract, as Inter is a great team," said Palombo, who spent the first part of this season in the second most powerful league in Italy.

The defender, who signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, has represented the Italian national team 22 times.
