On the last day of January transfer window, club leaders acquired promising team center-back Frederic Veseli.

The 19-year-old footballer, who also represents Switzerland U20 team, will join the reserve squad led by Warren Joyce at the 'Red Devils'.

"I am very happy and it is an honor for me to sign a contract with Manchester United," said Veseli. "I can't wait to start playing, work hard, and do everything to help this team. I want to show what I am capable of."

Veseli was the captain of the Switzerland U17 team when they triumphed at the U17 World Cup in 2009, and he moved to Man City in 2008 from Lausanne Sport.

"I am very grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing me to this club," continues the young footballer. "Man Utd has a history of producing great players and I hope to follow in their footsteps."

Meanwhile, the young Man Utd talent Ravel Morrison moved to a London club in the second tier of English football for £650,000. The sum could rise to £2 million with additional clauses.

On February 2, celebrating his 19th birthday, one of the most promising young champions in England last season helped the U18 team win the FA Youth Cup. The player appeared in three League cup matches as a substitute.

It is reported that Morrison's agent was one of the initiators of the transfer and will receive £1 million for it. The footballer will earn £12,000 per week, but if West Ham reaches the Premier League and Morrison plays a certain number of matches, his salary could increase to £65,000 per week.

In mid-January, Man Utd offered a new contract to the player, but Morrison rejected it. Coach Sir Alex Ferguson called the player's desires unrealistic and instructed the agent to look for a new club.

"I am happy to have signed a contract with West Ham," said Morrison. "The transfer happened very quickly and I can't wait to help the team break into the Premier League."
