After signing a new contract with the club, Daniele De Rossi became the highest-paid Italian footballer in the "Serie A" league.

According to "Gazzetta dello Sport", under the contract which is valid until 2017, the midfielder will earn 6.5 million euros (approximately 22.44 million Lt) per season.

So far, the goalkeeper of Turin's "Juventus" Gianluigi Buffon, who used to lead this category, annually supplements his account with 6 million euros (20.7 million Lt).

However, both of them are far from the most expensive "Serie A" player Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish legionnaire from Milan receives 9 million euros (31 million Lt) without bonuses. Milan's "Inter" leader Wesley Sneijder earns 6 million euros.
