Fernando Torres's athletic form does not please Spain's national team coach Vicente Del Bosque. The specialist mentioned that the London footballer may not be included in the squad for the upcoming European Championship this summer.
In January 2011, Torres moved from Liverpool to Chelsea for a record sum of 58 million euros, scoring only five goals.
"More or less I have the entire squad in my head. It's not worth expecting big surprises," said Del Bosque. "We will consider past achievements, but we cannot ignore the present. Torres knows what he has to do if he wants to make it into the national team."
The coach did not close the door to another striker, David Villa, who is currently recovering from a serious injury.
"We must be patient, because David deserves it. He is our most consistent goal scorer," said the strategist, adding that there will likely be no place for Valencia representative Roberto Soldado in the national team.
