Lukas Podolski is disappointed with unfulfilled promises from the leaders and is preparing to leave the club this summer.
In 2009, when the footballer returned to Cologne from Bayern Munich, he believed in the owners' intentions to help the team break into the top six in the country. However, Cologne still remains a mid-table team.
"I was told that they wanted to build a team around me with the goal of breaking into the top eight, and later the top six," Podolski told Bild. "I was determined to be part of such a project. But I am very disappointed remembering those plans and seeing what came of them in reality.
"Every year we try to move forward, but we can only fight to stay in the top league. I expected something else, because this stadium and the fans are unique."
The German, who has scored fifteen goals this season, is interested in teams like Roma's Lazio and London's Arsenal.
