Records continue to fall for Lionel Messi - the Argentine on Tuesday became the top scorer in the Champions League knockout stage matches.
The forward defeated Leverkusen's Bayer goalkeeper in the first leg of the quarter-finals and helped Barcelona celebrate a 3-1 victory. This was already Messi's 19th goal in knockout matches since 2005.
He surpassed famous players like Raul (Real Madrid and Schalke 04) and Andriy Shevchenko (Dynamo Kyiv, Milan, Chelsea) who have 18 goals each. In fourth place is Filippo Inzaghi (Juventus and Milan) with 16 goals, and in fifth place is Manchester United star Wayne Rooney (14 goals).
