Two more Champions League round of 16 matches were played on Wednesday.
The hope of reaching the quarterfinals was practically buried by London's Arsenal club, which was crushed 4-0 by Milan at the San Siro stadium.
The hosts dominated most of the match, and broke through in the 15th minute when Kevin Prince Boateng sent the ball into the net with an impressive strike.
Before halftime, Robinho doubled the lead with a header, and at the beginning of the second half, the Brazilian started to overwhelm the opponents. Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the deal with a penalty kick earned by himself in the 79th minute.
Arsenal had several chances to narrow the gap and regain a chance for revenge, but Robin van Persie's shots were kept out by the reliable goalkeeper Christian Abbiati.
In another dramatic match, Zenit St. Petersburg won 3-2 against Benfica at home in wintry conditions.
The visitors took the lead after Maxi Pereira's goal, but Roman Shirokov leveled the score with a penalty kick in the 27th minute. In the second half, Sergei Semak put Zenit ahead with a heel kick, but Oscar Cardozo scored a second goal for Benfica, making it seem like the match would end in a draw.
However, in the dying moments of the match, Shirokov snatched the victory for the hosts.
