The disciplinary committee of the Scottish Football Association has disqualified Saulius Mikoliūnas, a legionnaire from Lithuania playing for the Edinburgh club, from eight matches for hooligan behavior.
The committee handed a five-match suspension to the Lithuanian, while he will have to miss the remaining three games due to receiving two red cards in a dramatic match against Glasgow, which "Hearts" lost 1-2.
The Lithuanian national team player was shown a very questionable red card for approaching the assistant referee with his chest in the final minutes of the match against Glasgow club, when he was penalized for an alleged offensive foul.
For this action, the Lithuanian received a red card, and for using obscene language towards referee H.Dallas, he earned a second one. The committee also noted that the player's apology also influenced the decision.
Mikoliūnas has already missed matches against "Dunfermline" and "Inverness", and due to the suspension valid in all Scottish tournaments, he will not only miss league games against "Livingston", "Celtic", "Dundee Utd", city neighbors "Hibernian", and one more match divided into two parts, but also the cup semi-final against "Celtic".
Meanwhile, "Hearts" club is also facing sanctions for the hooligan behavior of their fans. After a penalty was awarded against them, they threw objects at the referee's team during the match. Last week, the Scottish Football Association rejected Edinburgh club's request to investigate the controversial decision of H.Dallas regarding the penalty kick.
