Milan's coach Claudio Ranieri insists he will not step down from his duties, even though his players lost 0-3 at home in the Serie A match on Friday against "Bologna".
Interestingly, club president Massimo Moratti left the stadium during half-time when the score was 0-2. It is said that the sword of Damocles is hanging over the coach's head.
"We are going through a difficult period. We must take responsibility and apologize to the fans and the president. They tried to support us, but the third goal shattered all hopes," said Ranieri, whose team has lost five out of the last six matches in all competitions.
"We must stay united and analyze the situation. I certainly do not plan to resign. It will not be easy, but there is no other way," he added.
Interestingly, "Inter" won seven consecutive matches in December and January, but upon the return of midfielder Wesley Sneijder to the field, they fell into a hole as they had to change their successful 4-4-2 tactical formation.
"He should be a player operating behind the forwards," the Italian coach said. "But when problems arise, I put him on the wing so he doesn't have to fight for every lost ball. This forces us to change the entire team. We will see how to solve this problem."
