London strategist Andre Villas Boas denies reports that during the break in the match against Birmingham, the team was inspired by striker Didier Drogba's speech.
In the FA Cup match, the 'Blues' were trailing 0-1 to the opponents from the second league until the 62nd minute, but thanks to Daniel Sturridge, they managed to equalize.
"This is absurd. I have nothing to comment on, as this statement is nonsensical," lamented coach Villas Boas, whose future remains uncertain due to poor results.
"We had chances to win, but playing a draw against a second league club is not good. The result is really poor."
The 34-year-old Portuguese admitted that the players lack self-confidence: "It's normal. We need a mental boost to start feeling confident, and that comes with results. We won't break out of this vicious circle until we achieve a good result. However, we are still competing in two tournaments, so not all is lost."
Lately, owner Roman Abramovich has been regularly attending Chelsea training sessions, but Villas Boas previously denied losing the Russian's trust.
