During a press conference before the match against "Valencia," Josep Guardiola refused to reveal when he will sign a new contract with "Barcelona," but he shared quite a few interesting thoughts with journalists.
"I could have said 'yes' much earlier, but I am not completely decided yet. Right now, the main priority remains working with the team. When I am completely convinced that I want to stay at the club, I will, of course, announce it," the head coach stated.
And right away, he hastened to explain his decision: "So far, it was enough to wait until January or February, but now I need more time. I hope my decision will be respected. If not, well, I am very sorry. My final decision is and will be related only to personal reasons, not the club. Nowhere will be as good as being at 'Barça.' I will stay here if I feel ready for it. I cannot deceive the club that sets the highest goals. I couldn't stay here and deceive everyone if I myself wasn't ready for it."
The coach also assured that he is grateful for the support shown by the fans, but reminded that the line between adoration and hatred can be very fragile.
"I am very happy that the fans want me to sign a new contract, but I would probably be pelted with stones if I hadn't won so many victories," Guardiola pondered.
