Dortmund has extended the contract with the team's captain Sebastian Kehl. The new contract will be valid until the summer of 2013, with the possibility of extending it for another season.
"This club is special to me and my family," said Kehl. "I am the longest-serving player in the team, so I am happy that I can contribute to its development."
The news was also welcomed by coach Jurgen Klopp: "I am delighted that this agreement has been reached. We have been working together since I arrived here."
Kehl moved to Dortmund from Freiburg in 2001.
