Attacker Wayne Rooney will miss the Europa League knockout match against Amsterdam's "Ajax" due to a throat infection.
The English national team player fell ill in the Dutch capital, where the "Red Devils" celebrated a 2-0 victory.
"Wayne will not run onto the field," said coach Sir Alex Ferguson. "Doctors gave him medication, but his condition only worsened."
This season in the English Premier League, Rooney scored 17 goals in 22 matches.
