This year, the Danish company Carlsberg, an official partner of the European Men's Football Championship "Euro 2012," is joining the football movement in Lithuania, initiated by Martynas Starkus and the Sunday Football League.

"I am glad that our initiative is needed not only by us, but also noticed by those who can help. The joining of Carlsberg to our movement gives it strength, especially knowing that it is a long-term supporter of football not only worldwide, but also in Lithuania. We believe that Carlsberg's support will help us achieve visibility and communicate with relevant institutions," says one of the idea's initiators, Martynas Starkus.

To engage the community, Carlsberg is providing its profile on the social network Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Carlsberg?sk=app_334500729893931). Starting today, it is possible to express opinions on the popularization of Lithuanian football, conduct discussions, plan meetings, and further actions. This year, Carlsberg will turn its support for the Lithuanian national football team into symbolic actions for Lithuanian football, and the action owners – members of the football fan movement – will be invited to participate in discussions with the national team coach, players, and football federation officials.

"Everyone actively joining this football movement will become a shareholder of Lithuanian football and will receive certificates confirming this. We believe that the knowledge that you are a symbolic shareholder of Lithuanian football will strengthen the sense of responsibility for your beloved sport, create a sense of community, and encourage more responsible involvement in this movement. The most active shareholders will be invited to a meeting. Carlsberg will ensure that a high-quality roundtable discussion takes place among all football enthusiasts interested in the popularization of football," said S. Zabielskienė.

During the planned spring meeting, participants will have the opportunity to discuss among themselves and with representatives of the national team and the leaders of the Lithuanian Football Federation. The meeting will be chaired by one of the movement's initiators, M. Starkus.

Being active shareholders of Lithuanian football will also be encouraged by a special prize established by Carlsberg. This is the opportunity to travel to the European Football Championship in Kharkiv and present the Carlsberg Man Of The Match Award to the most valuable player of the Portugal - Netherlands match. The winner will be able to experience running onto the field, shaking hands with a professional footballer, and feeling the exhilarating crowd of fans.
