London strategist Arsene Wenger urges footballers to forget their failures and fight for new victories.
Last week, the "Gunners" lost the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 match to AC Milan 0-4 and practically lost the chance to advance to the next stage. This means that the capital club will likely remain without trophies for the seventh consecutive year.
"We can't complain - we're doing fantastic work, and now very important matches await us," said the Frenchman before the derby against Tottenham. "The value of each match at this stage of the season is enormous, but that just makes it more interesting. It would be much worse if we had to play matches that didn't matter."
And he continued: "We have the opportunity to reduce the gap with Tottenham and secure fourth place in the league table. Of course, when everything goes well, it is easy to be positive, but in life there are also pitfalls. Successful are those people who rise after defeats."
