On Saturday, not only the excellent game of Sūduva players against "Jelgava" (4:0) was surprising, but also the performance of the new Lithuanian national football team coach Csaba Laszlo in the match.
Together with him, the youth national team coach Vitalijus Stankevičius, coach Igoris Pankratjevas, and the director of Lithuanian national teams Robertas Tautkus arrived. The new Lithuanian national team coach Csaba Laszlo has visited Marijampolė not for the first time and was pleased not only with the excellent performance of "Sūduva" in today's match, but also with our city's football complex. "I was surprised by the "Arvi" football complex, one of the best football complexes I have seen in Lithuania. I hope to see something similar in Vilnius and Kaunas."
When asked about the Sūduva players, coach C. Laszlo commented: "I have already invited 4 players for the Monday. Unfortunately, one player is injured (P. Leimonas - ed. note). For now, I don't want to mention any names. Players from the top league impress me more and more each time. I believe that the "Sūduva" team has quite a few good players whom I am preparing to observe in the future."
The coach has not yet selected his assistants for the national team, but hopes that their ranks will be supplemented not only by foreign, but also by Lithuanian coaches. C. Laszlo is not rushing, as there is still enough time (2 months), as he says, to gather good and reliable employees.
When asked about the upcoming national team matches, the strategist responded: "I think our first match will be against the Russian team in Switzerland. After the first matches of this season, we will have matches for the Baltic Cup. Later, matches are scheduled against the Belarus national team, in August we would like to play a match against the Macedonian national team in Lithuania, and then - World Cup qualifying matches in September against Slovakia."
