Platini: Germany's team is currently the strongest in Europe © EuroFootball.com

UEFA President Michel Platini ensures that the German national team is currently the strongest in Europe.

According to the legendary Frenchman, whose country will play a friendly match against the Germans on Wednesday, Joachim Low's players will be the favorites to win the upcoming continental championships this summer.

"Germany has the best team - they are young and very creative," said Platini. "This team has not lost a single qualifying match, so alongside Spain, they are the main favorites to win trophies."

Platini also criticized the French national team: "We have two or three really good players, like Karim Benzema or Franck Ribery, but the others are average."

Germany will play in Group B at Euro 2012 alongside Portugal, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Meanwhile, France will try to beat Ukraine, Sweden, and England in Group D.
