Birmingham and England national team striker Darren Bent will not be able to play for three months due to a shin injury.

It is a painful news for the 28-year-old footballer, who will only return to the pitch at the end of May. There are only a few weeks left until the start of the European Championship, which will begin for England on June 11.

"It is extremely sad that I will miss the most important phase of the season," Bent wrote. "I hope to recover as soon as possible."

In the Premier League, the striker scored nine goals in 22 matches.
