David Silva accuses Madrid of tarnishing his name after negotiations for a move to the capital club broke down.
The 26-year-old Spaniard shook hands on a deal worth around 30 million euros in the summer of 2010. Later, reports in the media suggested that "Real" did not make a specific offer to the goalkeeper due to his "problematic lifestyle."
"If "Real" didn't even want to buy me, then I don't understand where these accusations came from," Silva said. "My conscience is clear - I always behaved like a professional.
"These unpleasant events didn't make me angry, but they surprised me. "Real" showed interest in me, and then tried to justify their change of position with accusations. Neither "Real" nor "Barcelona" made concrete offers - it was "Man City" who did. I am very happy with the decision I made."
"Valencia" team president Manuel Llorente, where Silva played, explained that "Real" backed out of intentions to sign the footballer after Jose Mourinho became the team's coach.
"Real" wanted Silva, but with the change in coach, the position changed as well. We received a phone call saying that the negotiations were ending," he stated."
