In the English "Premier League," seven matches were played on Saturday.

Andre Villas-Boas' future at London's "Chelsea" club is hanging by a thread - the Portuguese's proteges lost 0-1 to "West Bromwich" away on Saturday.

In their last 12 matches in the national championship, the "Blues" managed to secure only three victories.

The hosts dominated the second half of the match, so a late goal from Gareth McAuley secured a deserved victory against "Chelsea," who are at risk of not making it among the top four in the league table and losing their spot in the Champions League.

"Man City" continues to perform well, with no rest days, beating "Bolton" 2-0 thanks to goals from Gael Clichy and Mario Balotelli.

Under Roberto Mancini's guidance, the "Premier League" team has now won 19 consecutive matches at home, equaling a record set by "Man Utd" last October.

London's "Arsenal" team also secured an important victory in the afternoon match, beating "Liverpool" away 2-1.

The hosts completely dominated the first half, with Liverpool creating numerous opportunities, but their goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny denied Dirk Kuyt's penalty kick in the 19th minute.

Although "Liverpool" took the lead a few minutes later when defender Laurent Koscielny scored an own goal, "Arsenal" quickly equalized in the 31st minute with a goal from Robin van Persie.

Despite their efforts, "Liverpool" failed to score again, with Kuyt and Suarez hitting the woodwork, while Szczesny made crucial saves.

After half-time, Liverpool looked less dangerous, and manager Kenny Dalglish chose not to make substitutions until the 87th minute. This passivity cost them as Van Persie scored his second goal in the 92nd minute to secure the win.
