Chelsea coach Di Matteo: there must be more passion in the team's game © EuroFootball.com

The new London strategist Roberto di Matteo wants to see more passion in the team's game.

The 41-year-old specialist took over after Andre Villas Boas was fired from his position on Sunday. Before that, the Italian worked as his assistant.

"After training, we talked to the players individually, trying to motivate them properly - that is currently our main job," Di Matteo said. "We aim to secure fourth place in the English championship. Every match will be very important."

Introducing his assistant Eddie Newton, the coach also stated: "He is a 'Chelsea' person, and I want passion from those who care about this club. One of the tasks is to convey this to the team. We must regroup."

On March 6, Tuesday, "Chelsea" will play an FA Cup match against "Birmingham" away.
