Rafael Benitez does not deny that he wants to become the new strategist of London.
The English club sacked Andre Villas-Boas on Sunday, temporarily replaced by former assistant Roberto Di Matteo.
"A coach always wants to win trophies, so I am keeping an eye on the situation at the big clubs," said the Spaniard, who has managed Liverpool for several years. "Chelsea, without a doubt, falls into this category.
"My results in the Champions League are good, and I also have experience in the English championship. I know that someday I will receive a good project offer, I just don't know when. You can't stay unemployed for long. I have been waiting for a year, so I really want to work, and I consider the Premier League a priority."
This week, the opportunity to take over the reins of Chelsea was rejected by Tottenham's coach Harry Redknapp, Germany's national team coach Joachim Low, and Pep Guardiola, who currently works at Barcelona.
