The scandalous Mario Balotelli admitted that he needs to finally mature. The striker is considered one of the most promising in Europe, but in two years in England he failed to avoid scandals. The media especially discussed the Italian's conflict with defender Micah Richards, setting off fireworks in his bathroom, arrogant behavior towards police officers, and more.
"If coach Roberto Mancini says something, it means he is right," Balotelli said, referring to the coach's urging to mature. "But I'm only 21 years old, still very young. I think compared to last year, I have more clarity in my head."
Rarely giving interviews, the footballer born in a Ghanaian immigrant family in Sicily said: "If Mancini wasn't here, I wouldn't have moved to Manchester. I am happy with my decision, but I don't like it when people talk about my personal life. I value privacy. Maybe someone sees me as arrogant, but that's just how I am. I don't care what others say. I walk around the city like any normal guy. I go to a bar. But I don't drink."
This season, Balotelli scored 14 goals in all competitions.
