O.Buitkus invited to the Lithuanian national team again © EuroFootball.com

On Thursday, the head coach of the Lithuanian national football team, Algimantas Liubinskas, announced the list of players going to the training camp in Germany.

As known, before the World Cup qualification match against the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, the Lithuanian national football team is heading to a training camp in Berlin.

According to the president of LFF Liutauras Varanavicius, this is a great opportunity for the players to gather before important matches. Negotiations for the preparation camp in Germany began last year, and this year this idea was finally approved.

In the selected composition of A. Liubinskas, three changes have been made compared to the lineup for the match against Georgia. Scotland-based goalkeeper S. Mikoliūnas is no longer included in the preliminary lineup, as he is likely to play for the youth team, while it seems that after some unsuccessful performances, the former fourth team striker T. Radzinevičius has also been decided not to be invited.

The coach decided to include a new face in the team, a relatively new one - experienced defender O. Buitkus, who has already played for the national team almost 30 times, and now he is back in the team after a two-year break, as the last time the player represented the national team was that memorable week in March-April 2003, when Lithuania drew with Germany and then beat Scotland.
