German national team veteran Arne Friedrich has signed a one-year contract with the Chicago "Fire" club in the United States.

Friedrich, who can play in central and right back positions, has recently struggled with injuries. In 2010, he signed a contract with "Wolfsburg", but was unable to play for a long time due to injuries, and suffered another injury last autumn. His contract was terminated at that time.

Currently, the player is healthy and ready to help the team. He was also attracted by several European clubs, but decided to try his luck overseas.

The 32-year-old footballer represented the national team 82 times, most recently in the European Championship qualifiers in March. He also participated in the 2004 and 2008 European Championships, as well as the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
