On Monday, there were five matches played in the English Premier League.
London's "Arsenal" club, fighting for the fourth place, won an important victory by defeating "Newcastle" 2-1 thanks to a goal scored by Thomas Vermaelen in the fifth minute of added time.
The visitors took the lead after 14 minutes with a goal from Hatem Ben Arfa, but after another attack by the London team, the score was level: Robin van Persie scored his 33rd goal of the season.
The intense battle continued until the very end, and the final blow was Vermaelen's strike, allowing "Arsenal" to reduce the gap from London's "Tottenham", who are in third place, to just one point. The teams were separated by 12 points before six rounds.
