In the principled derby of the English championship, "Liverpool" defeated Liverpool's "Everton" 3-0 and ended a series of three consecutive defeats.
The 'Reds' were led to victory by the fans' favorite Steven Gerrard - the team captain scored all three goals and proved that even just returning from injury, he remains a leader. Interestingly, this match was the 400th for the Englishman in his career in the "Premier" league.
The first goal was scored by the goalie in the 34th minute, when after goalkeeper Tim Howard saved Martin Kelly's attempt, the first one rushed to the ball and sent it over the defenders' heads into the net. After the break, Gerrard doubled the advantage with a powerful shot, and just before the final whistle, he recorded a symbolic 'hattrick'.
