After the victory in the Champions League round of 16, Roberto Di Matteo did not hide his joy and assured that this result will go down in the club's history.
Led by Andre Villas Boas, the London footballers lost 1-3 away to Napoli, but at home under the guidance of coach Di Matteo, they avenged themselves with a 4-1 win after extra time.
"It is extremely important for this club to continue the fight in the Champions League," the Italian assured. "You saw for yourselves what this means to the players. Everyone is happy because we played really well.
"Throughout my career, I have experienced many wonderful evenings, but with this success, I will probably go down in the club's history - after all, we overturned a two-goal deficit. This is a big boost for the rest of the season."
He added: "Napoli performs better at home than away, although they were dangerous when launching attacks. We believed we could score and we succeeded."
