On Friday in Nyon (Switzerland), the draw for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals revealed all four pairs of teams continuing their battle for the most prestigious trophy in European club football.

The first pair includes "Liverpool" from England and Turin's "Juventus" led by F.Capello. These teams will face each other for the first time in almost twenty years. Back in 1985, the Italian club celebrated victory in the tournament final, but the match was overshadowed by the tragic death of 39 fans.

In the other quarter-final, two Milan teams - "Milan" and "Inter" - will clash. The players from "Inter," who jumped on the departing Champions League quarter-final train this Tuesday, will try to stop "Milan," who have been demonstrating quite mature play and seek to win the Champions League for the seventh time.

In the opinion of many, the weakest pair in the quarter-finals will be the clubs of Eindhoven's "PSV" and "Lyon." Although both teams are leading their respective national championships, neither of these teams is considered a favorite to win the title. However, it is worth noting that nobody expected to see "Porto" and "Monaco" in the final last year.

The winner of the last season, J.Mourinho, and his London "Chelsea" team face the successful "Bayern" club from Munich, who crossed the barrier of the round of 16 by defeating "Arsenal." Although "Chelsea" and "Lyon" are the only clubs that have never won the Champions League, it is almost certain that the winner of this pair will be one of the strongest contenders to claim the prestigious trophy.

The first matches of the Champions League quarter-finals will be played on April 5-6 and 12-13. The winners of the pairs will play the semi-final matches on April 26-27 and May 3-4, with the final taking place on May 25 at the Olympic Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Champions League matchups:

II pair: (Italy) - Milan (Italy)

III pair: (France) - Eindhoven (Netherlands)

IV pair: London (England) - Munich (Germany)

In the semi-final, the winners of pairs I - IV and II - III will face each other.
