Continuing rehabilitation after a serious injury, footballer David Villa received a pleasant surprise - a thousand paper cranes folded by enthusiasts from Japan arrived.

With this gesture, fans of the Catalan team in Asia express their support for the 30-year-old Spaniard.

"There are many Villa fans in Japan, so his injury affected all of us," said one of the initiators Hiroki Nakano. "We wanted to express our good wishes in some way."

Cranes are considered a symbol of success and health.

"Such things give me strength to continue rehabilitation," Villa rejoiced. "I have no doubt that this gift will always lift my spirits and help me return to the field stronger."
