Last week, the ranks of "Sūduva" were joined by Craig Thomson, the best young player of the 2009 Scottish Championship. Representing his country, C. Thomson has played for the Scottish U-19 and U-21 youth national teams. The newcomer to the Marijampolė team has already made an impression in the matches against "Tauras" from Tauragė.

- What are your first impressions of the "Sūduva" team?

- The first impressions are very good. I trained with the team on Friday and had a good opportunity to get to know everyone, the team veterans were friendly to me. It left a good impression on me.

- Have you had a chance to look around Marijampolė?

- I have been here for a very short time, but I have already had a chance to look around the city, it seems quite beautiful. Lithuania is already somewhat familiar to me. Playing in Kaunas, I had the opportunity to see the country and, of course, get acquainted with its football.

- Is it important for you to play in a team that aims for the highest goals?

- Well, yes, that is important, but you can't win all the competitions. Of course, it's nice to win, so far our team has secured two victories. I hope we will continue to win.

- How do you rate your first performance in the ranks of "Sūduva"?

- I gave it my all, played at 100%, but I think I can play even better. I will try to prove that.

- In your opinion, how far can this year's "Sūduva" go in the Lithuanian championship?

- We have very good players and if we maintain the same level of play as we have had so far, I believe we will definitely be among the top three teams in Lithuania.

- What role do you think will be entrusted to you in the team? Do you think you will be one of the most important players?

- Well, I hope to be important (laughs). Every player must perform to the best of their ability, and I am no exception.

- How do you rate the atmosphere in the team?

- The atmosphere in the team is really great, the players get along well, like to joke around. It is a strong and well-assembled team. I believe everything will be fine.
