Lionel Messi's surname in golden letters goes into history - on Tuesday he became the all-time leading scorer at the club.

The 24-year-old footballer scored three times in the Spanish championship match against "Granada" and has a total of 234 goals to his name. He surpassed Cesar, who in 13 seasons from 1942-1955 defeated opponents' goalkeepers 232 times.

Messi, voted the best player in the world three times in a row, scored a total of 54 goals this season and set a Champions League record in a match against Leverkuson's "Bayer" by scoring five times.
