After a dull first half, "Stoke" took the lead when Peter Crouch scored with an impressive long-range shot. However, the visitors managed to equalize: Ryan Shawcross scored after a rebound.
Recently leading with seven points ahead of their closest pursuer, "Man City" club is falling into a deeper hole - Roberto Mancini's players could only manage a 1-1 draw with "Stoke" away from home.
Although this point allowed them to catch up and even surpass "Man Utd" in terms of goal difference, the title-defending 'Red Devils' can extend their lead to three points by beating London's "Fulham" at home on Monday.

In the more eventful second half after the dull first half, the teams in the attacking positions were much more active. The visitors had Emmanuel Adebayor closest to scoring, but his shot towards an empty goal was blocked by defender Gary Cahill, and Gareth Bale's header hit the crossbar.
In the other half of the pitch, Juano Matos' long-range shot hit the post.
