The coach Rafael Benitez, who currently holds the fifth place in the English championship, warned the players of the team playing unstably that if the situation does not change, he will not hesitate to make serious changes in the summer.
The Spanish coach spoke about this because in the UEFA Champions League, Liverpool club looks strong and is one of the two English clubs that have reached the quarter-finals of this prestigious club tournament, but the team's game in the English championship is fluctuating.
"I think about this form fluctuation all the time," said the Liverpool coach. "When will my patience run out? I answer: I will work with the players and, if the situation does not change by the end of the season, in summer I will have the right to change something."
"I imagine how we should play on the field, but looking at the statistics, I have to admit that the plans are not realized," said the former Valencia coach. "I want to see that 'Liverpool' that defeated 'Olympiacos', 'Arsenal' and 'Bayer'."
"I have been in such situations before," said the Spaniard. "In my second season with Valencia, we defended the champion title, but finished only in fifth place. Then in summer, I calmly assessed the situation and the next year we won both the Spanish league and the UEFA Cup."
Tomorrow Liverpool face a derby with Everton, who are one place above them in the standings. Benitez revealed his admiration for David Moyes' team: "This season has been very successful for them. They work hard as a team and all players have one goal. It was similar in Valencia, and such teams are very difficult to beat.
"Our team is more talented, but in football that's not everything," explained Benitez. "Sometimes we lack courage or we are not focused on the field."
