Madrid leader Cristiano Ronaldo has become the fastest player to score 100 goals in the Spanish Championship.
The Portuguese national team member scored twice against "Real Sociedad" in San Sebastian on Saturday, bringing his total to 101 goals in 92 matches. He surpassed the legendary Ferenc Puskás, who needed 105 matches to reach the three-digit mark.
This season, C. Ronaldo has defeated opponents' goalkeepers 35 times in "La Liga" competition - the same number as Barcelona's star Lionel Messi. Both are approaching the record set by the Portuguese last year, when he scored 40 goals in a season.
Messi is the all-time top scorer for Barcelona, having already scored 55 goals this season. He has scored 18 times in the last nine matches.
In the standings, Real Madrid is ahead of Barcelona by six points. The second "El Clasico" will take place on April 22 at the "Camp Nou" stadium.
