In the central match of the round, competing for a place in next year's UEFA Cup, Marseille players unexpectedly defeated Lyon, who had been leading the tournament so far. Lyon missed the opportunity to secure the top spot on the tournament table after their draw with the underdogs yesterday. Marseille took the lead early in the match after Didier Drogba's goal, and despite Lyon equalizing the score, the visitors managed to take three points from Lyon.

Bordeaux, who made it to the UEFA Cup quarterfinals, failed to beat Strasbourg. Losing this match, Bordeaux players seem to have lost the chance to enter next season's UEFA Cup tournament, so their only hope is to win this year's UEFA Cup.
