Pep Guardiola stated that they will have to score at least two goals if they want to reach the Champions League semifinals.
In the first leg of the quarterfinals, the Spanish champions played a 0-0 draw away against "Milan."
"I think we need to score more than one goal if we want to secure a spot in the next stage," the coach said. "An away goal is very valuable, but our opponents were lucky because they never caused us trouble around the penalty area and didn't earn any set-pieces. The 'Milan' team is very strong, so we certainly can't expect success by scoring just once."
He continued: "If you had offered me a place in the Champions League quarterfinals and a 0-0 draw in the first leg away game before the season, particularly against 'Milan,' I would have accepted, especially considering they have won the European Cup seven times and were last season's domestic champions. However, we have to acknowledge that we came here and played the football we are accustomed to displaying."
Guardiola did not blame the poor condition of the pitch: "We, like UEFA, want to see a spectacle, but it's difficult to do that if the conditions are not right. However, this is not a problem with 'Milan' or 'Inter,' but rather a stadium issue."
