Both goals for the winners were scored by Papiss Cisse, and the Liverpool team ended the match in a minority - goalkeeper Pepe Reina was sent off the field and will miss the next three games due to disqualification.
The Spaniard, who was supposed to be replaced in goal due to the limit of substitutions, saw a red card against himself in the 83rd minute for committing a foul against James Perch.
