After an impressive victory against Marijampolė's "Sūduva", the head coach of Žalgiris Vilnius said that it was the best game for the team.
The Vilnius City Football Association team "Žalgiris" convincingly defeated the Marijampolė "Sūduva" team, which had not been defeated in the championship so far, with a 4-0 (1-0) score in the IV round of the General Financing A League.
Even the head coach of VMFD "Žalgiris," Damiras Petravičius, did not expect such an impressive victory.
"Today, two of the best teams in the league played. We could see a beautiful game on the field. The first half of the match was nervy. Nevertheless, we managed to score the first goal. Later, the second goal followed, but unfortunately it was disallowed. Despite that, after the first goal, we started playing better, as a result of which we took control of the match. Scoring 4 goals against a team like "Sūduva" may be too much. I congratulate my players on the victory. It was our best game in the General Financing A League. We have to continue playing like this, as the championship has just begun. Tomorrow we will start preparing for the upcoming matches again," said the team's strategist.
VMFD "Žalgiris" team was led by Mantas Kuklys on Sunday. In the 21st minute, after his pass, Tomislavas Pekas sent the ball into the goal.
After the break, Mantas himself started counting his goals. In the 52nd minute, he successfully found himself in the penalty area and headed the ball into the goal, scoring the team's second goal. In the 69th minute, Mantas scored again after a set piece. Mario Grgurovičius took the penalty kick and lifted the ball into the penalty area, where M. Kuklys, who ruled once again, headed the ball into the goal.
