Managers want the five-referee system to be implemented in the Italian championship.

Italian champions have recently been dissatisfied with at least two referee decisions made regarding incidents in the penalty area and are requesting that the additional two assistant referees who already work in some tournaments become commonplace in Serie A.

"Everyone makes mistakes," said Milan vice president Adriano Galliani. "But accepting some of them is very difficult, even when looking for justifications.

"I understand that the use of technology would face many obstacles, so it is currently not possible. However, I think that the five-referee system used in the Champions League should be acceptable."

Referees did not notice when Sulley Muntari sent the ball over the goal line in the duel with Turin's Juventus, which ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw. Additionally, a controversy arose over whether Catania defenders managed to clear the ball from the goal line after Robinho's shot over the weekend.
