Guardiola: we respond to criticism with great performance © EuroFootball.com

Strategist Pep Guardiola is convinced that his players deserve a ticket to the Champions League semi-finals.

In the second leg of the quarterfinals, the Catalans defeated Milan 3-1. The first match in Italy ended in a goalless draw 0-0.

"We eliminated one of the strongest teams in Europe, which was not easy to do," said Guardiola. "It's worth noting that they only had three shots on goal, while we had 21. However, if people were expecting a result like 6-0 or 7-1, they need to understand that it doesn't happen against the strongest Italian team. We did everything to celebrate the victory."

Guardiola also responded to Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, who claimed that the referees favored Barcelona at the Camp Nou stadium.

"Ibrahimović can say the same thing as Jose Mourinho, but we respond to everything on the field," Guardiola said. "I think both penalty kicks were correctly awarded because the fouls were clear violations - I've understood that since childhood.

"If Ibrahimović believes that those incidents were made up by the referee, then fine, but we will play in the semi-finals for the fifth consecutive year, so players speak their word on the field."
